Doggy Day Care

So The Boy dropped The Pup off at day care for the first time today. Now before you start thinking we are crazy loons, know that we are only doing this to get him used to the place before we leave him there for a week while we are on vacation. We leave next Friday (woo hoo) and I want to be sure that this place is someplace he will be comfortable while we are gone. I also want to be sure that the woman doesn't find out that she doesn't really like him only after we've left for a week. Not that my dog is unlikeable. Actually, he's quite the opposite...if I do say so myself. I'm just an overprotective pet parent.

The more I think about it, the more I realize I should be not be nervous, I should be jealous! As we speak my dog is hanging out with a bunch of his new friends in some fancy cottage complete with gardens with picket fences. I'm sitting here at my desk writing this blog when I really should be attacking the pile of work growing on me desk. Any of you ever board your pets? How did you feel the first time you dropped them off?

On a brighter note, I am going to be in tropical paradise in one week. Alleluia!!!! A few weeks ago I took a trip to The Container Store and bought these neat little carry on packs. It's a clear plastic quart sized zip bag with all these different 3 oz. bottles inside. I also bought these weird plastic bags that you put your clothes in and roll it up. As you roll it up all the air comes out and your clothes are squeezd into oblivion leaving much more room in your suitcase. It also leaves about a zillion wrinkles, but hey you can't have everything. I'm dead set on not checking a bag! And now I've been reading about all these problems American Airlines has been having at JFK with their baggage system, I'm really happy I'm prepared. Because guess which airline I'm taking out of which airport! My plan is to get off the plane and through customs and be drinking a Red Stripe at the Sandal's lounge before anyone has even found their bags! It's the little things that make me happy.

I agree with you, although I could never NOT check a bag when going to the tropics. When I got someplace hot, I feel like a superstar!

Plus, I love my Vera Bradely suitcase too much.

Doggy will be fine:) I am so excited for you !

Oh Oh, I have those clothes bags, and I love them. They are the only thing that let me fit more shoes than absolutely necessary in my suitcase!

I'm sure that your dog will be fine, and I hope you DON'T spend your whole vacay worried about him.
