It's snowing again in New York. It's not snowing enough for school to close for the day, which means I have class tonight. :-( I go one night a week and have my two classes back to back. My early class was cancelled today so I have to hang around until 7 pm when my second class starts. Meanwhile, all I want to do is be home on the couch with TB watching Lost. Any of you guys watch that show? How lame was last week's episode?
TB and I have decided to spend this year visiting some cities that we think have potential to live in. I'm so sick of the cost of living around here. It's just ridiculous. On the list are Charlotte, Raleigh (we are doing both cities next month!!), Denver, San Diego (which may not balance out in terms of cost of living but shit, the weather alone makes life better!), Chicago and Nashville. Anyone have any opinions on any of those places? Any suggestions of areas we should and should not see when we're in Charlotte/Raleigh?
So we're visiting them all for long weekend during the next year. That way, once we're done with school, we can apply to jobs in our top cities and go from there. Of course, we may end up sticking around here, but who knows. We spend a few months semi-house hunting before the holidays. I say semi because although we were actually looking, we weren't exactly sold on the fact that we wanted to buy. Anyway, we looked and looked and either couldn't afford the places we liked or hated what we saw. It was annoying and we threw in the towel until we know what is up with our future. I just want a backyard for the love of god! I also want to live in a place where people are nice. I think that if I surround my self with patient, friendly people, they may rub off on me. And god knows I could use a little help!

I think it is awesome that you are doing this. If you need a hook-up in Chicago for the weekend to get a feel, my cousin lives there. He will gladly take you guys out and show you the town.
But, Chicago should be taken off you list. It is freezing there for most of the year.....I know you are a hot weathered person.
San Diego sounds like jackpot to me.
Chicago is really nice, like a cleaner, more PG version of NYC. My friend lives there and loves it. But the weather is awful. Like feet and feet of snow in the city with no snow days. lol
I'm with Penny. San Diego all the way.
BTW: did you know that San Diego means a whale's vagina in German? lol
