I had my follow up with the orthopaedist yesterday and it has been confirmed. I need surgery. He scheduled it for April 24th :-( I'm kind of scared. I really don't like the idea of wearing a sling for 4 weeks. I have no idea how to be left handed lol. The doctor's office told me they would give me a note for work for the full 4 weeks. I'd have to take short term disability, but I can't say the idea of four weeks off of work isn't super appealing. In reality though, if the pain isn't too horrible, I'll be back to work as soon as possible. According to the doctor some people are back to work in a week while others take much longer. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so I guess we shall see.
I'd consider taking the full four weeks, but with the economy the way it is, I'm afraid my boss would realize he'd get by fine without me. While I do not love my job, by any means, it does pay my bills and give me some money towards tuition. The company,in general, has not suffered from this financial crisis, but a new partner took over our group and let go a bunch of people she didn't like. One of them was a fellow assistant. I think we have all been on our best behavior since then. I feel like big brother is always watching now a days. I hate that. It gives the office a high school clique kind of feel. It makes me want to get school started and finished as fast as possible.
In other news, it has been above 50 degrees in New York for the last few days. Apparently that means it's flip flop and sun dress time of year. Who knew? I've broken out some short sleeve shirts, but am still bundled up under my coat. I think it's safe to say I'm a warm weather person.

I am watching LOST!! I LOVE IT. It is such my favorite show on TV now.
As for the surgery, if you are on disability, your job is secured and they can not let you go. Law suit if they do!
But being left-handed is easy ;) Just kidding, I would have serious issues if I had to use my right hand.
Let me know if you need anything with the surgery. Good news is that you will have time to have a girls night now!
I hope the surgery goes well. They can't fire you if you are out on disability.
