So yesterday, I took the advice of the masses (or the 6 people I asked lol) and slapped on my ear buds on the way to the train. Train friend showed up shortly there after and did not do more than wave hello. Yeahhhhhh. This looked like it might actually work!! That is, until we got on the train and he proceeded to follow me to my fave seat and sit his ass down! Crap. So I proceeded to Part B of the plan and pulled out my magazine. As I'm reading I see this hand waving in front of my face. So I take off one ear bud (I call them headphones, but I wonder if I write that you all will picture me sitting on the train rocking some giant 80's fabulous headset sooo earbuds it is) and look at train friend who says "Good Morning! I just wanted to make sure I said that so as not to be rude." I reply with a good morning and put my music back on. Not 3 minutes later is he waving at me again!!!!! Again I take off one ear bud thing to see what he wants. And this is the kicker...."I just wanted to tell you to do your thing and read and stuff, I won't interuppt you." WHAT!? I need you to INTERRUPT me to tell me that I should do whatever I want. Am I wrong or is that just WEIRD!!!??? Anyway, when the train pulls into the final station, everyone is getting off and I can see that he is stalling in order to wait for me. So I just kep on reading. haha. Everyone is getting off the train and I am reading away. Finally he gives up, waves a hand in my face to say goodbye and heads out. Phew! That took long enough.
Now this morning started off even better!! I actually was running a bit late and got to the train as it was pulling in the station. When the doors opened, there was the usual crowd of Pushy Little Lady and Pushy the Man already waiting and Train Friend was with them. They got on ahead of me and I was SUPER relieved to see that he went to his own section!!! I was on the phone at the time so I just smiled as I passed him and went to my fave seat. It was a GLORIOUS ride to work. I listened to my i pod (which all of my Ben Harper mysteriously disappeared from) and read the paper. Ahhhh. What a relief. The train pulls in to the final stop and I once again see him stalling to wait for me. I just kept on reading and waited until he left. I gave him a few minute head start and packed up my stuff. I'm strolling down the platform and about halfway down Train Friend appears! He was fiddling with a candy wrapper obviously waiting for me!!! He says "oh hey." With that "fancy meeting you here" kind of tone. Jerk. He says, "I just wanted to check that you are okay. Yesterday you seemed kind of off." Hello!? Do you know me??? NO! So how the hell do you know if I seem off!? I really wish I said that, but instead just told him that the daylight savings time has me a little off and SINCE I"M NOT MUCH OF A MORNING PERSON, it just makes it worse. Do you think that might get the hint across?
I am giving him until the end of the week to get the hint. I like my section of the train because it does not get crowded like the front, but if he doesn't get the hint soon, I am going to listen to The Boy and sit in the opposite end of the train.

This almost makes me miss having to take the subway to work...haha almost!
I was really territorial with my car going to work too. Stick it out until the end of the week. But becareful, he seems to be going above and beyond morning chit chat.
He does know what stop you get on/off. You don't want him showing up at your place with a butcher knife!
Blah..his seat got stolen by some newbies today so he sat in my row. He interupted my music/reading once to ask some random question, but left me alone the rest of the ride and I even managed to avoid him once we got to our stop!!! At least some progress is being made lol.
