So I realized this weekend that I started this blog by telling you guys about me and The Boy and our history but have seriously slacked on the story. I believe I left off with our move to northern VA and my quitting the job with Psycho Boss. Picking up from there....
I had already been on the search for something new, so I wasn't too scared to be without a job. I had had enough of the food service industry and was really looking to get into the 9-5 lifestyle. Imagine my surprise when I get called for an iterview the very day after I quit that hell hole. It was an office manager position right in an awesome neighborhood in DC. The interview went great and I actually was offered the job like a day later.
I started my new job as the office manager of the corporate headquarters of this company. Oddly enough, I reported to the executive assistant of the President/CEO. Looking back, that should have been a red flag for me. I soon found out that although I was responsible for all the typical Office Manager things, I was also the receptionist... yeah, odd (I'll have to explain that in time.) The woman I reported to knew that I was new to the area and started to take me out after work to all the nearby happy hour hot-spots. At first I was excited to have a female friend. That excitement lasted all of a month until I realized that my new bud was a raging alcoholic. The one or two times a week I made it to happy hour, it would end for me by 8 pm at the latest and she would not make it home until last call had been served and then proceed to spend the next day sick to death in the office. She would be running to the bathroom throwing up all day. It was a disaster, especially since I was the lucky person who had to pick up her slack. It didn't take too long before I was doing all three jobs at once!!! Running to get her hangover food, answering all the phones and managing the office sure kept me busy, but I was happy to have a job that had normal hours and even paid OT. It was such a different way of life than the restaurant business, that I think I probably put up with more than I should have. It didn't take long to learn that drinking was the smallest problem my co worker had.
And so began my time with the Alchi Lady. I have so many stories to tell about her, I hardly know where to begin. She only lasted with the company for 4 months after I started, but boy did she use that time to leave lasting impressions of horror on everyone we worked with. More to come, for sure.

Oh oh oh!!! I have one of those for a former coworker too! It's horrible to know that more than one existed!
Can't wait to hear more though
