New (old) Boss aka Crazy Psycho

This man seriously was a hot headed psycho. Now, I have a tendancy to over exaggerate when I am annoyed, but even The Boy can vouch for me on this. This man was a tyrant. He had this crazy notion that he didn't need to follow the rules of the company. I think I mentioned before that we were working for a franchised food service place. There were very specific rules that Corporate had each owner follow in order to make sure every store, regardless of the location, was run the same and appeared uniform. I think that makes good sense and happen to think the company's business plan was very good. Crazy Psycho e'hem New Boss, did not. This man NEVER made any of the product we were selling. EVER. It was always a last minute crazy race to have anything to sell. The place was in disarray, people were quitting left and right and I had to step in and fix this!?!? Things you should know BEFORE moving to a new state!!

Anyway, I thought I had finally got a hold of things as I had been working 12 + hour days since I moved. Did I mention I made the mistake of moving in around the corner from work? BAD IDEA!! The employees and Crazy Psycho called me every 3 minutes for nonsense. This man seriously called a million times a day for no good reason. Even on my 1 day a week off. I was getting super fed up super fast. On top of his bad management abilities, Crazy Psycho was mean although I think the nickname probably gives that one away. He would make underage kids work crazy long shifts which is against the law and fire them if they complained. He told me once not to hire someone because they were gay and he "didn't want any flamers around here." What an asshole. He also kicked a bucket of cleaning solution at one of the teenagers that was working because he didn't like the way he was cleaning. He yelled and yelled and yelled all the time. I wish I could really explain just how terrible he was because I don't think my description is doing it any justice.

After a month and a half or so, I had had enough. I had seen and heard some of the foulest things from this man. One day, I decided to take a break during the day and go home and sit down. I was exhausted from working so much. Sure enough 4 minutes later, my cell phone was ringing. Crazy Psycho. I sent it to voicemail. He called again. Voicemail. He called a third time. Voicemail. Again. Voicemail. (he did this all the time) Finally he leaves a message, an irate message. " When I call you I get you live! I do not get your voicemail, I get you live. I expect a phone call within the next 2 minutes. Do you understand me!?" Seriously, he was screaming at the top of his lungs.....I mean I could almost see the scream spit fly out of his mouth. lol. Being the passive agressive gal that I am, I decided to wait about 25 minutes before returning his call. Ha! By this point, he had put on his stern voice and was talking to me like I was in trouble with the principal. I was polite, yet cold while I listened to whatever he had to say and hung up. Inside, I was furious! I mean seathing mad, but I went back to my night shift anyway. Awaiting me at the store were numerous messages from Crazy Psycho's wife. As I'm flipping through the messages, she calls again. She proceeded to get crazy out of line with me telling me that her husband is the boss and I better respect him. Well, I snapped. I mean seriously, who does she think she is!? I told her all about her husband's sometimes illegal, sometimes discriminatory, sometimes down right rude, but ALWAYS insane behavior and hung up. I proceeded to finish my shift and call the Crazy Psycho. "Hi Crazy Psycho, it's me. I just thought you should know that you are the most disrespectful man I have ever met and I absolutely refuse to be associated with you for a moment longer."

Anyhoo, I'm off to the South to hit the beach this coming week!! I am in desperate need of frozen drinks and some serious sun. I hope you all have a great weekend, and for those who celebrate, a great Easter too!

Thanks!! He was horrible and these are only a few of the stories I could remember. I lasted about a month and a half before I quit and found a nice cushy office job in Foggy Bottom :-)
